(excerpt from a Poem by Robert Laurence Binyon)

"They went with songs to the battle, they were young.
Straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted,
They fell with their faces to the foe.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them."

Sunday will consist of finishing up the paving if necessary and planting various plants around the garden. Please bring shovels, wheelbarrows, gloves, and safety goggles!!!! They will be very helpful. Thank you for helping and can't wait to start on Friday!!! The project location will be at the West Deptford Middle School. Wayne Hires Eagle Scout Project is Underway!
Information from Wayne Hires regarding his Eagle Scout Project:
I will be revitalizing and repairing the park on the corner of Salem Avenue and Grove Road. After years of going past this park and seeing it in a state of disrepair this was an obvious pick for my Eagle Scout project. I hope to fix the park in the areas that need it so it can be a fun and more importantly safe place for the children of the area.
The project will consist of removing graffiti, repairing an area of the fence that has been torn down, replacing wood on some of the equipment, painting the equipment, as well as cleaning up any debris that may be there. I will need donations and/or supplies. Donations received will be used to purchase plywood, tools, fencing, fence posts, paint, brushes and any other necessary items. I will be leading a group of scouts and volunteers to complete the project.
My project is planned for June 2015. If you wouldlike to submit a donation please make all checks payable to West Deptford Troop295. Any checks can be sent to 2 Pleasant Valley Drive, West Deptford, NJ. I would greatly appreciate any donations and thank you for considering donating to myproject. This project is important to me and the community. I will be grateful for any help.
Thank You, Wayne Hires, Eagle Scout candidate
